AhaSend was built for the email your application sends: password resets, receipts, notifications. Since this month the answer is yes. Your newsletter, product update or promotion can go out from AhaSend, next to your transactional email, and you have two ways to do it. ## Two ways to send marketing email **Campaign Builder.** Import your contacts, design the email, send a test and schedule it, all in the dashboard. It is included in every plan, the Free plan too, and campaign emails simply count towards your monthly volume. No separate price. Nothing to configure either: a campaign goes out over our marketing infrastructure from any verified domain. [Read the Campaign Builder announcement →](https://ahasend.com/blog/campaign-builder-live-newsletters-and-campaigns-every-ahasend-plan/) **Your own tool, through the API or SMTP.** If you already have a newsletter tool, a CRM or your own code that sends marketing email, point it at AhaSend. The only thing you need to change is the domain: marketing email through the API or SMTP must come from a domain that is set to Marketing. If you would rather not keep the design in your own code, you can now store it as a [transactional template](https://ahasend.com/docs/send-api/templates) in AhaSend. ## Set a domain to Marketing Give your marketing email its own subdomain, such as `news.yourdomain.com`, and keep your transactional email on the domain it uses today. Then: 1. Open [the Domains page](https://dash.ahasend.com/account/-/domains) in your dashboard. 2. Open the domain and click **Settings**. 3. Set the sending type to **Marketing** and save. ![Sending type](https://cms.ahasend.com/sites/default/files/styles/max_width_1000/public/2026-10/sending-type.png?itok=BVKKTfSq) From that moment, email from that domain goes out over our marketing infrastructure and gets the one-click unsubscribe headers that Gmail and Yahoo expect from bulk senders. A newsletter from a domain that is still set to Transactional is stopped, as before. ## Separate from your transactional email Marketing email runs on its own IP pools with its own limits. A large send never slows down your password resets, and the reputation of your transactional domain is not affected by your campaigns. The daily marketing limit starts low for a new account and grows with your volume and a low spam rate; a send that is larger than the limit continues the next day, and support can raise the limit. See [the daily marketing limit](https://ahasend.com/docs/campaigns/marketing-limit). ## The rules The rules for marketing email are the same whichever route you take, and they are the usual ones: - You send only to people who asked for your email. We do not accept cold outreach, and email that looks like it is stopped. - Every email has a visible unsubscribe link, and unsubscribes are honoured at once. - Campaign Builder takes care of both. - Every email has a visible unsubscribe link, and unsubscribes are honoured at once. Campaign Builder takes care of both. From your own tool, that is your job. You have two options: put `{{ unsubscribe_url }}` in your email, and AhaSend turns it into a signed link per recipient that adds a suppression when it is used; or use your own unsubscribe endpoint and set the one-click headers yourself. Either way, keep the opt-out in your own data too, so the address is left out of your next send. See [how to add one-click unsubscribe](https://ahasend.com/docs/deliverability#how-do-i-add-one-click-unsubscribe). Everything else stays as it is: the same account, the same API keys, the same dashboard, the same bill, and your data in Europe. ## Where to start Have a newsletter to send? Open [Marketing](https://dash.ahasend.com/account/-/marketing/campaigns) in your dashboard and build your first campaign. Already sending marketing email from your own tool? Add a marketing subdomain today and switch the sender. Questions about your setup are welcome at [support@ahasend.com](mailto:support@ahasend.com).
